Maurits Cornelis Escher, usually referred to as M.C. Escher, was a Dutch graphic artist. He is known for his often mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. These feature impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, architecture, and tessellations.

Let’s take a quick look at some of his works

Looking at the work of this pioneering artist it was interesting to discover how his work constantly inspires modern advertising campaigns. It shows how design and art overlap because his work is awesome art. Today similar concepts, principles and even elements are used to deliver a specific message and help sell a product. The result: spectacular ad campaigns.

What do you think? Are some of the uses justified? Do they do justice to the original concepts? Feel free to share your thoughts.
