This is quite an ad by Duracell. The first thought to me on this one is that it’s hitting Energizer hard. At first I couldn’t really understand why they used bunnies and I kept thinking Energizer then I thought, that’s it! I love the idea that so many bunnies make up 1 Duracell battery. If Energizer keeps going on and on and so many of it makes up 1 Duracell then it it delivers a powerful message.
The other really great thing about this ad is the cute factor. I love the contrast of elements where we have cute bunnies being the make-up of something representative of strength, something mean. Like this Sumo for example — the expression on his face is mean but the bunny up front is smiling and being all cute. Speaking of the look of the Sumo, that’s great attention to details don’t you think?
One reason I think everyone’s having a blast in these ads is because we use batteries to power the things that brings us fun and entertainment. That’s my connection of it to the fun factor of the ad but it’s not only saying that of course. What makes an ad great to me is when it can be interpreted in various ways and each of those interpretations strategically serves to improve the brand or strengthen it.
What’s your thought on this? I’m interested in knowing if anyone else saw the Energizer bit in it like I did.
